George Hoyningen
George Hoyningen-Huene (1900-1986) possessed an innovative artistic vision and was one of the most influential photographers of his generation. He was a star fashion photographer in Paris and New-York, capturing exquisite haute couture creations by designers such as Balenciaga, Chanel, Schiaparelli and jewels by Cartier and Tiffany&Co. A master of composition and lighting, Hoyningen-Huene’s talents were also sought after in Hollywood, where he created portraits of the biggest stars of cinema’s golden age. The screen legends who sat for him included Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo and Gary Cooper, to name just a few.
