Joël Lemaine
Joël Lemaine was born in St-Pierre-et-Miquelon in 1954. Watercolour artist, stamp designer – he has adopted a hyper-realistic style with a penchant for maritime themes treated with the “meticulous rigour of a scientist”.
For him, the theme of the sea is a way of communicating with his native island. On the sea and on paper, brushes in hand – he likes to outline his subject by the waterside and then rework it in the studio.
