\u00c0 travers son \u0153il, Gilles Lorin offre une perspective profond\u00e9ment personnelle sur la d\u00e9licate beaut\u00e9 de notre plan\u00e8te, immortalis\u00e9e dans des compositions photographiques sereines et esth\u00e9tiques.<\/p>\n

Son travail est reconnu internationalement. Quelles techniques utilisez-vous ?<\/h3>\n

Que cela soit la prise de vue ou bien le tirage, j’utilise de nombreux proc\u00e9d\u00e9s photographiques. J’y vois en effet de nombreuses possibilit\u00e9s d’expression artistique, chacun de ces m\u00e9diums pouvant conf\u00e9rer diff\u00e9rentes atmosph\u00e8res et cr\u00e9er des objets photographiques tangibles. Pour les prises de vues, cela va du 35 mm \u00e0 la chambre 8×10″, de l’argentique au num\u00e9rique, ou bien m\u00eame des plaques de verre g\u00e9latin\u00e9es que je confectionne moi-m\u00eame. J’utilise aussi r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement le collodion humide qui permet des \u0153uvres uniques et une esth\u00e9tique tr\u00e8s particuli\u00e8re. En ce qui concerne le tirage, je privil\u00e9gie le tirage platine sur papier ARCHES\u00ae Platine<\/a> ou bien sur gampi. J’utilise aussi d’autres techniques telles que le tirage sur feuille d’or et l’h\u00e9liogravure traditionnelle \u00e0 partir de plaques de cuivre.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/youtu.be\/V8bvdcjj74E” align=”center” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Quels sont les sujets qui vous inspirent ?<\/h3>\n

Tout est sujet \u00e0 m’inspirer. Je parle souvent de portrait, dans mon travail ; que cela soit une personne, un arbre, une montagne, un b\u00e2timent… Je cherche \u00e0 capter son essence, une partie de son \u00e2me et \u00e0 transcender sa beaut\u00e9.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”47989″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Selon vous, quel est le plus grand artiste de tous les temps ? Pourquoi ?<\/h3>\n

Je ne saurais vous dire… Fils d’antiquaire, j’ai \u00e9tudi\u00e9 l’histoire de l’art et l’arch\u00e9ologie pour ensuite consacrer une carri\u00e8re de plus de vingt ans dans l’art de l’Extr\u00eame Orient. J’ai eu le privil\u00e8ge de voir tellement de belles \u0153uvres, produites par des artistes de toutes \u00e9poques et continents, je ne saurais choisir. Si je devais citer un artiste que j’admire, cela serait Pablo Picasso. Si l’on regarde le portrait de sa s\u0153ur qu’il a peint sur un petit panneau en bois \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge de 16 ans, expos\u00e9 au Mus\u00e9e Picasso \u00e0 Malaga, on remarque tout de suite une ma\u00eetrise technique et d’un r\u00e9alisme quasi impeccable d\u00e8s son adolescence. Cette ma\u00eetrise lui a permis d’explorer toute sa vie diff\u00e9rents styles et mat\u00e9riaux, une constante qu\u00eate d’exploration cr\u00e9ative et en se r\u00e9inventant sans cesse. C’est justement ce \u00e0 quoi j’aspire dans mon travail photographique.<\/p>\n

Racontez-nous un moment d\u00e9cisif dans votre carri\u00e8re artistique<\/h3>\n

Une forte exp\u00e9rience artistique, c’est avant tout l’exp\u00e9rimentation dans l’atelier et l’\u00e9merveillement lorsque l’on r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 force de pers\u00e9v\u00e9rer apr\u00e8s tant d’\u00e9checs. Un moment d\u00e9cisif, c’est probablement ma premi\u00e8re exposition \u00e0 New York City au AIPAD en 2016 avec la galerie Kunsthandel J\u00f6rg Maass. Ils m’ont offert un mur entier pour exposer mon travail et je ne savais absolument pas \u00e0 quoi m’attendre au milieu de tant de belles \u0153uvres. Le retour a \u00e9t\u00e9 extraordinaire et a valid\u00e9 que je me dirigeais dans la bonne direction. J’y ai fait de magnifiques rencontres avec collectionneurs, artistes et tireurs, avec qui j’ai tiss\u00e9 des liens d’amiti\u00e9 depuis. C’est notamment le cas de Martin Axon, l’instigateur du papier ARCHES\u00ae Platine avec la maison ARCHES\u00ae, avec qui j’\u00e9change r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”47996″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Comment s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 votre premier contact avec le papier ARCHES\u00ae Platine ?<\/h3>\n

Cela remonte \u00e0 plus de vingt ans. L’ARCHES\u00ae Platine \u00e9tait le seul papier sp\u00e9cifiquement con\u00e7u et adapt\u00e9 au tirage platine, c’\u00e9tait donc le choix le plus judicieux. Cela reste mon papier de choix, avec sa belle texture de coton 300 g et ses bords frang\u00e9s. J’utilise r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement toute la feuille et adapte l’image \u00e0 son format car celle-ci est une \u0153uvre en soit et fait partie de l’esth\u00e9tique finale de l’\u0153uvre.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”47982″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Sur quoi travaillez-vous actuellement ? Avez-vous d\u2019autres projets en cours ou \u00e0 venir ?<\/h3>\n

Je travaille sur plusieurs s\u00e9ries dont les Alpes, ainsi que le th\u00e8me de l’eau, qui est l’essence m\u00eame de la vie. Je continue \u00e0 me laisser guider et reste \u00e0 l’\u00e9coute de mon environnent. Les th\u00e8mes ne manquent pas, le plus important pour moi est de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir et trouver la bonne esth\u00e9tique pour les interpr\u00e9ter.<\/p>\n
