The hot pressed ARCHES® Aquarelle travel journal
There is now a new addition to the ARCHES® range, a hot pressed ARCHES® Aquarelle travel journal sketchbook. Many roving artists are already familiar with the cold pressed 300 gsm ARCHES® Aquarelle travel journal, an established classic.
To better meet the needs of artists working in mixed media, the Arches paper mill now offers a hot pressed version, again with 300 gsm paper.
Why choose hot pressed paper?
Hot pressed paper is better suited to mixed media work, such as pencil, pastel or felt tip pen drawing combined with a light watercolour wash or watercolour combined with thin ink line drawings. There are any number of possibilities with so-called dry techniques. The paper’s very smooth surface lends itself beautifully to watercolour flat washes, but also to lovely fused effects. It is ideal for illustrations and all kinds of work with lots of detail requiring great precision.
