Michael O’Neill made a name for himself with his emblematic portraits of American presidents, athletes, stars and celebrities.

But after an operation on his spine that left him partially paralysed and unable to continue working as a photographer, he turned to the peace and tranquillity of yoga and meditation to help him recover.

His new book “On Yoga, The Architecture of Peace” and a major new exhibition at the TASCHEN gallery in Los Angeles feature over a decade’s worth of photographs on the theme of yoga and those who practise it around the world.
