Linda Ljungblad captures the aura of places in her watercolours

Linda Ljungblad

Born in 1988 in Falkenberg, in Halland County, Sweden, Linda Ljungblad is a self-taught watercolour painter whose artistic career has been as bright as the Scandinavian landscapes she captures. Currently based in Gothenburg, she has devoted thousands of hours to perfecting her art, developing a unique visual language that combines the precision of detail with the softness and enchanting atmosphere of Nordic light.

From a very young age, Ljungblad found serenity and an outlet for expression in painting, encouraged by her parents, who always supported her creativity. After exploring various artistic techniques, she discovered watercolour in 2016, which marked a turning point. Instantly captivated by this medium, she made it her primary mode of artistic expression. Since 2018, she has fully devoted herself to it and has been organising exhibitions with her husband.

Linda Ljungblad’s work is characterised by a delicate balance between technical precision and poetic emotion. Her refined use of colour and light manages to capture the essence of Scandinavian nature, infusing her pieces with a serene depth. Each of Ljungblad’s pieces reflects her deep attachment to watercolour and her fascination with how even the smallest details can tell the most powerful stories. Inspired by urban and coastal environments, her creations reveal a carefully chosen palette where light and contrast play key roles.

The trams of Gothenburg have had a particular influence on her work, becoming a recurring theme whose nuances she never tires of transposing. Through this urban and natural imagery, Ljungblad invites viewers to interpret her pieces in their own way, resonating with their own experiences and memories. Each painting, infused with a personal connection to her environment, serves as a bridge between the artist and her audience, opening up a sensory dialogue where smells, sounds and memories come to life.

For Ljungblad, each place is more than just a geographical location – it is a receptacle for memories and emotions. Her art seeks to make a lasting impression – like an indelible imprint – on the retina and in the hearts of those who admire it. It is with this poetic vision that her watercolours captivate and inspire her audiences. They reflect an undeniable talent for transforming familiar landscapes into powerful and universal visual narratives.
