François Malnati
François Malnati is a self-taught French painter who was born in 1950. He lives and works in Sélestat in Alsace. Working in a figurative style, he uses pastels, oil paints and watercolours. He exhibits in France and abroad and has received several distinctions. His work has been the subject of many publications, in particular the American magazine SPLASH. François Malnati harbours a fascination for objects. He is fervent painter of still lives, producing realistic paintings that follow in the footsteps of his models, who range from Vermeer to Sam Szafran.
