Charles Chauderlot

Born in 1952 in Madrid, from a French father and Spanish mother, Charles Chauderlot comes from families with artist ancestors: renowned painter, sculptor and architect. His drawing teacher noticed him when he was eleven and encouraged him to take a course. Combining the Western perspective with the “empty and full” of Chinese painting, Charles Chauderlot creates all his works in situ, using Indian ink and Chinese brushes. He has been granted the unique and exceptional permission issued to date by the Chinese authorities to paint in the areas forbidden to the public in the Forbidden City of Beijing.
