Starting out as a hands-on apprentice, in the1960’s, while photography was still a craft based art, Michael O’Neill now has a career spanning nearly six decades. He was a contributing photographer at publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, Time Warner, Fortune, Life Magazine, Sports Illustrated and many others. He has received numerous accolades, and worldwide recognition for his work. For the last 12 years he has immersed himself as both a student and documentarian photographing never before seen images of the world of yoga that is both ancient and timeless. This project has in part manifested in the publication of his book “On Yoga The Architecture of Peace” by Taschen and a feature documentary film released in 2017. He is currently working on a 50-year retrospective and another book project.
