José Gietka
José Gietka is a surrealist symbolist painter born in Herstal, Belgium in 1957. He studied Art Nouveau, Impressionism and Byzantine art at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Liège. He is interested in glassmaking, porcelain and faience and jewellery. He also has a qualification in cabinet-making. His original, colourful, light-filled works are the product entirely of his imagination, as he works without making preliminary drawings, in a quick and very emotional process.
