From 24 to 26 September, Bergamo will be hosting the second edition of the Storie ad Acquerello festival. This is Italy’s first festival dedicated to the watercolour painting technique. The event was created and designed by Laura Cortinovis, a well-known illustrator and author of children’s books from Bergamo.
25 professional illustrators and watercolourists will be taking part in a full programme of meetings, exhibitions, workshops and demonstrations. These will take place in some of Bergamo’s most amazing locations, such as the Seminarino, Circolino Città Alta, Sant’Andrea Theatre and the SpazioCam centre.
The 2022 edition will feature a special first day devoted to meetings with art school students.
ARCHES®, a F.I.L.A. (Fabbrica Italiana Lapis ed Affini) group company, is an official partner of the Festival.
“As a storytelling tool in the hands of the artist, watercolour makes it possible to tell stories by playing with water and colour. A simple gesture that produces images capable of capturing fantasy and real, abstract and concrete worlds. Lightness of touch, shading of colours and transparencies are transformed into emotion for the observer. Illustrations become doors onto wonderful worlds.” – Laure Cortinovis
